Fix for the FedEx error: "PHONENUMBER.EMPTY: Phone number is empty." The customer's shipping address is missing a valid phone number — open the RMA, add the phone number, and regenerate the label.

What this means

FedEx rejected the shipment because the customer shipping address does not contain a valid phone number.

How to fix

  1. Open the RMA.

  2. Review the customer shipping address.

  3. Confirm a phone number is present.

  4. Remove any spaces or special characters if needed.

  5. Ensure the number format is valid for the destination country.

  6. Regenerate the label.

If the issue continues

If the label still fails after updating the phone number:

  • verify the phone number length is valid for the country

  • try using digits only

  • contact Support if the issue persists
