ℹ️ Shipping zones vs pricing zones: Shipping zones define the regions you ship to and control which carriers, rates, and rules apply. Pricing zones define how products are priced in those markets. They work together but are configured separately in Swap.

Prerequisite: The countries you add must belong to an active Shopify Market. If a country isn't part of an active market, customers from that country won't be able to check out. See Understanding Shopify Markets before adding countries not yet in a market.

Creating a shipping zone from scratch

  1. Go to Shipping in the Swap Dashboard.

  2. Click Add Shipping Zone.

  3. Enter a name for the zone. This is an internal label — it won't be visible to customers.

  4. Use the Countries dropdown to add countries to the zone.

  5. If needed, configure duties and tax buffers.

  6. Optionally add custom fees by clicking Add Custom Fee.

  7. Choose whether to include your tax strategy in subtotal-based shipping rules. When enabled, rules are evaluated against the displayed (tax-inclusive) subtotal rather than the pre-tax figure.

  8. Click Add New Rule to create shipping rules for the zone. See Shipping zone configuration settings for a full explanation of all rule and rate options.

  9. Click Save.

Importing a shipping zone from Shopify

If you've already set up shipping zones in Shopify, you can import them directly rather than recreating them manually.

  1. Go to Shipping in the Swap Dashboard.

  2. Click Import Shipping Zones.

  3. Select the zones you want to import.

  4. Click Import Shipping Zones, then Start Import.
