Label error — SEKO — Invalid suburb, city, and postcode combination

SEKO label error caused by an invalid suburb, city, and postcode combination. Most commonly seen for Australian and New Zealand addresses.

Written by Jemma O'Leary

This error occurs when SEKO cannot validate the customer's address because the suburb, city, and postcode combination does not exist in the carrier database. Most commonly seen for Australian and New Zealand addresses.

Error message

"SEKO API returned errors: Origin: The attempted Suburb/City/Postcode combination does not exist in the database. Please update the combination and try again."

What this means

SEKO's address database could not find a match for the suburb, city, and postcode combination provided. This most commonly affects Australian and New Zealand addresses.

How to fix it

  1. Open the RMA and check the customer's address.

  2. Confirm whether the suburb, city, or postcode is incorrect.

  3. For Australian addresses, verify the postcode using the Australia Post postcode lookup.

  4. If the city contains "Saint", try changing it to "St" — for example, "Saint Kilda" → "St Kilda".

  5. Update the address in the RMA.

  6. Regenerate the label.
