Swap Protect is your all-in-one solution for safeguarding customers’ orders against loss, damage, or theft. This guide will help you get started quickly with Swap Protect.
1. Installing the Swap Global App
Start by installing the Swap Protect app from the Shopify App Store.
Steps to Install: Visit the app store, search for “Swap Global,” and click “Add App.”
2. Choosing Your Protection Mode
Decide between Consumer Mode or Merchant Mode:
Consumer Mode: Customers opt-in to add protection at checkout.
Merchant Mode: All orders are automatically protected, with costs absorbed by the merchant.
Shipping Zone Mode: Definine if Swap Protect is added per Shipping Zone in Swap Global.
Please get in touch with your Account Manager to choose a Protection Mode.
3. Configuring the Protect Widget (Consumer Mode Only)
Embed the Protect widget on your cart page to allow customers to opt-in for order protection:
Navigate to Online Store > Themes > Customise in Shopify.
Drag and drop the widget onto the cart page.
4. Reviewing Widget Settings
Tailor the Swap Protect widget to your store’s needs:
Customise the widget to match your store’s branding. (Coming soon)
5. Manage Protected Orders
Access the Protected Orders Screen to monitor and manage all covered transactions:
View order details, coverage statuses, and claims.
Use search and filters to quickly locate specific orders.
6. Handle Claims
Simplify claim resolution through the Swap Protect dashboard:
Customers can file claims via the customer portal.
Track claim progress.
7. Communicate with Customers
Boost customers’ trust by highlighting order protection:
Add messaging like “Your orders are protected by Swap Protect” to your site for Merchant Mode.
Use banners or product page notes to explain the benefits of protection.
Include Swap Protect in your Terms & Conditions.
8. Stay Compliant
Swap Protect ensures full compliance with Shopify’s regulations:
Opt-in is required for Consumer Mode; no pre-selected options are allowed.
Protection costs must be transparently displayed to customers if using Consumer Mode.
