This article explains the common causes of shipping label generation failures for exchange orders, and how to resolve them.

404 Not Found error

A "404 Not Found" error when generating a label for an exchange order typically means the order doesn't exist in the Swap Global Dashboard.

Exchange orders are usually not created using a live Swap Global shipping rate. Without that, the order doesn't sync to the Dashboard — so when the system tries to create a label via the Global method, it can't find the order.

To resolve this:

  1. Search the Swap Dashboard for the order number to confirm it hasn't synced.

  2. Confirm the exchange order was not created using a Swap Global shipping rate.

  3. Use the bypass rate option instead. This skips the Dashboard sync check, allowing a label to be created even if the order isn't in the Dashboard.

Outbound label generation failure

If an outbound label fails to generate for an exchange order, the bypass rate also works as a workaround — it skips the Dashboard check entirely.

Bypass rate still failing

If label generation still fails when using the bypass rate, check that every item in the order has a declared value assigned. Missing declared values will block label creation.

Once all items have declared values, retry generating the label using the bypass rate.
