You can convert an existing Refund RMA into a Gift Card or Store Credit without deleting and recreating the return.
Eligibility
The conversion option is available only when:
The RMA result type contains a refund.
The credit options setting is enabled on the dashboard.
The conversion option is disabled when the RMA is:
On Hold
Closed
In Needs Review
Instant Exchange
How to convert a Refund
Open the relevant RMA.
Click Convert to Credit.
Select:
Convert to Gift Card, or
Convert to Store Credit (if enabled).
Confirm the action in the confirmation modal.
Clicking Confirm performs a conversion only. No processing is triggered, and the conversion cannot be reversed afterwards.

Gift card or store credit value
The value equals the refund amount.
No bonuses are applied as part of this conversion method.

Any customer email sent post-conversion uses Gift Card messaging.
When the RMA is processed, Shopify issues a gift card for the converted amount.
