This article explains how to change a return outcome from store credit to a refund. The steps depend on the current status of the return.
If the return has not been sent back
If the return has not yet been shipped or processed:
Go to the Swap Dashboard.
Locate the RMA.
Delete the RMA.
Reprocess the return through the returns portal.
Select Refund instead of Store Credit.
If the return has been delivered but not processed
If the returned items have been received but the return has not been finalised:
Do not process compensation in Swap.
Close the return in Swap without issuing store credit.
Process the refund directly in Shopify on the original order.
If the return has already been processed with store credit
If store credit has already been issued:
Remove the store credit in Shopify.
Process the refund manually in Shopify on the original order.
Important notes
Refund type cannot be changed in Swap after a return has been processed
Any changes after processing must be handled in Shopify
Always check the return status before taking action
