The Copy Original Shipping Method setting allows you to automatically apply the same shipping method from the original order to any exchange order. This ensures consistency and prevents issues with zero-value exchange orders being created without an allocated shipping method.
Location of the Setting
You can enable this setting in your Returns V2 dashboard:
Go to your Swap Dashboard
Open the Returns drop-down menu
Click "Shipping"
Open the "General Settings" tab
Use the toggle to enable or disable the setting
How It Works
When enabled:
The shipping method from the original order is automatically copied to the exchange order.
Carrier information is retained, and the shipping cost is set to 0 for zero-value exchanges.
If an additional payment is required, the shipping method is also applied to the draft order.
Limitations
This setting applies only to exchange orders where the value is the same or zero.
No changes are made through the Exchange API.
If you disable the setting, exchange orders will not automatically inherit the shipping method.
