How to Create a Market
To create a Market, follow these steps:
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Markets.
Click on “Add market.”
Add a name for your new Market. This is only seen by you.
Select the countries you wish to add to this Market by clicking on them.
Once you’ve selected the countries, click on “Add market.”
Your new Market is automatically activated.
How to Activate and Deactivate a Market
If you wish to activate or deactivate a Market, follow these steps:
Activating a Market
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Markets.
Click on the inactive Market you wish to activate.
On the top right, click on “Inactive”.
In the drop-down menu, click on ‘Active’.
To save your changes, click “Save” on the top right.
Deactivating a Market
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Markets.
Click on the active Market you wish to deactivate.
On the top right, click on “Active”.
In the drop-down menu, click on “Inactive”.
To save your changes, click “Save” on the top right.
How to Expand a Market
You can add the country to an existing active Market to expand sales to a new country. To do so, follow these steps:
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Markets.
Click on the Market you wish to expand.
On the top right, click on “More actions”.
In the drop-down menu, click on “Edit Market”.
To add a country, under “Countries/regions”, click on “Edit”.
Now select the country or countries you wish to add to this Market.
On the bottom right of the pop-up screen, click “Save”.
To save all changes, click “Save” on the top right.
