ℹ️ Compliance Hub is only accessible to Admin users.
This article explains how to upload and manage compliance documentation in Compliance Hub. For an overview of Compliance Hub and the compliance data it manages, see Understanding Compliance Hub.
Supported categories
Compliance Hub currently supports customs document uploads for shipments to the United States, across three categories:
Footwear — CBP Form 5523 (Footwear Declaration/Invoice) is a legal requirement for all footwear products.
Watches — CBP Form 4455 is a legal requirement for all watch products.
Eyewear — documentation requirements are conditional and depend on the specific product type.
The Compliance Documentation score card on your dashboard shows your current documentation status across all three categories, with a warning indicator if anything's missing.
Uploading documents for a category
Click Manage documents on the Compliance Documentation score card.
Each category card shows the category name, the required document type, a requirement badge (Legal or Conditional), how many products fall into that category, and your current upload status.
Click Upload docs on the category you want to complete.
Select the SKU scope:
Apply to all SKUs — applies the document to every product in that category at the time of upload. This is a snapshot, so products added after upload aren't automatically covered.
Select specific SKUs via CSV — download the pre-filled CSV, mark which SKUs the document applies to, and upload it alongside your document. Use this when a document only covers a subset of your products.
Select the destination country. The United States is supported in this release.
Upload your document in PDF format. If you selected specific SKUs via CSV, upload both the PDF and the completed CSV.
Review the disclaimer and click Save & apply to SKUs.
Once saved, the category card updates with a country badge confirming the document is in place for that market.
Adding documents for additional countries
To cover additional markets, reopen Manage documents and click + Add country on the relevant category card. This opens the same upload flow, pre-scoped to that category. Documents for different countries are stored independently and don't overwrite each other.
Managing uploaded documents
Documents are grouped by upload. Each row shows the filename, upload date, number of SKUs covered, and a link to download the list of covered SKUs.
View — click the document to download and preview the PDF. This view is read-only.
Replace — opens the upload flow to substitute the existing document. You'll need to re-select the SKU scope during replacement.
Delete — removes the document. You'll see a confirmation showing how many SKUs are affected before you confirm. Affected SKUs revert to an uncovered state once deleted.
⚠️ A SKU can't be covered by two documents in the same category at the same time. If a SKU is already covered by an existing upload, you'll need to delete that document before including the SKU in a new one.
A category can have more than one uploaded document if different documents apply to different subsets of SKUs.
General documents
The General Documents section of the Manage documents modal is for compliance documents that apply across categories — a Certificate of Origin is a common example. For more on what a Certificate of Origin is and when you might need one, see Understanding Certificates of Origin and Countries of Origin.
To upload a general document:
Click Upload Document in the General Documents section.
Select the destination country, or choose Apply to All Countries to cover every country you currently ship to. This is a snapshot — countries added later aren't automatically covered.
Select the SKU scope, the same way as for category documents.
Upload the document in PDF format.
Review the disclaimer and click Save.
Only one document per destination country is supported per document type. To update one, delete the existing document and upload a replacement.
