The Happy Returns integration allows your customers to access box-free, label-free returns at thousands of Return Bar locations. By connecting your account, you can automate delivery confirmations and streamline your RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processing.
Prerequisites
US Store Location: This integration is currently only available for stores with a United States address.
Happy Returns Credentials: You will need your Happy Returns API Key and Retailer ID.
Account Merging: If you wish to merge your existing Happy Returns account with the Swap Happy Returns master account, please contact your Swap Account Manager and your Happy Returns representative to initiate the merge.
Step 1: Configure API Credentials and Service Types
Once you have added a US location to your store, contact your Swap Account Manager to enable Happy Returns as a carrier. If using your own account, provide them with your credentials.
Step 2: Enable the Happy Returns Carrier
After the Account Manager has enabled the carrier, the option will appear in your Swap Admin Dashboard.
Navigate to Returns > Shipping in the sidebar.
Locate Happy Returns and click the Settings (arrow) icon.
Select the US address you wish to associate with this carrier.
Step 3: Connect the Integration for Automated Updates
To enable automated webhook updates for tracking and quality control, you must connect the Happy Returns "App."
Please check with your Happy Returns contact person that your account has permissions to enable webhooks return.asn and return.audit.
Navigate to Returns > Integrations in the sidebar.
Locate the Happy Returns card and click Connect.
Review the integration capabilities in the modal:
Automatic Delivery Confirmation: RMAs are marked as "Delivered" the moment an item is scanned at a Return Bar.
Auto-processing: RMAs are automatically processed once Happy Returns confirms completion.
Exception Handling: Any failed reports are moved to "Needs Review" for manual intervention.
Click Connect to finalize. The status will update to Integrated.
What Happens Next?
Shopper Experience: Customers with US return addresses will now see "Return Bar" as a shipping option in your portal.
Real-Time Tracking: Swap receives a notification the instant a customer drops off their package.
Automated QC: Depending on your settings, Swap can automatically trigger refunds or exchanges once items are verified.
