This article explains how to manually configure the Swap Magento Extension on a Magento 2 instance after installation. Follow these steps to enable the module, register your Swap account, and configure the shipping carriers.

Step 1: Install the extension

Before starting the configuration, ensure the Swap Magento Extension has been installed on your Magento instance. If installation is still pending, refer to the developer installation guide.

Step 2: Enable the Swap module

To activate the Swap Extension inside Magento:

  1. Log in to your Magento Admin Panel.

  2. Go to Stores → Configuration → Sales → Swap.

  3. Set Enable Module to Yes.

  4. In the Admin Email in Swap field, enter the email address of the merchant admin account.

  5. Click Save Config.

After saving, Swap will automatically create an account for the provided admin email. The Swap onboarding team will be notified and will contact you shortly to assist with the remaining onboarding steps. If you prefer to schedule onboarding proactively, you can book a demo.

Step 3: Configure shipping carriers

Important: This step should only be completed after you have been contacted by the Swap onboarding team. Attempting to configure shipping before onboarding may prevent the Swap shipping module from functioning correctly.

To configure your shipping carriers:

  1. In the Magento Admin Panel, go to Stores → Configuration → Sales → Delivery Methods.

  2. Disable all non-Swap shipping carriers.

  3. Ensure that the Swap Shipping Module is enabled.

The shipping rate is set to 20 units of your store’s default currency by default. If you would like to adjust this rate, please contact Swap Support.

Note: The Swap shipping module will only function after your merchant account has been activated by the Swap Operations team.

Disabling the Swap extension

If you need to disable the Swap Extension:

  1. Go to Stores → Configuration → Sales → Delivery Methods.

  2. Disable the Swap Shipping Module.

  3. Re-enable any alternative shipping carriers as needed.
