Password Reset Not Working - Troubleshooting Guide

If you are unable to reset your Swap merchant portal password, this article walks you through the reset process and common issues that prevent it from working.


How to Reset Your Password

  1. Enter the email address associated with your Swap account.

  2. Click Send Reset Link.

  3. Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for an email from [email protected].

  4. Click the link in the email - it will open a page to set a new password. Use the link within 1 hour as it expires after that.

  5. Enter a new password (minimum 8 characters, including at least one number and one special character).

  6. Click Save and log in with your new password.


Common Issues

I didn't receive the reset email

  • Check your spam or junk folder.

  • Ensure you are checking the correct email address (the one registered with Swap).

  • Wait up to 5 minutes - email delivery can be delayed.

  • Check whether your email provider is blocking emails from [email protected]. Ask your IT team to whitelist this domain if needed.

  • Request a new reset link if needed - note that requesting a new link immediately invalidates the previous one.

The reset link says "Expired" or "Invalid"

  • Reset links expire after 1 hour. This window is set by our authentication provider and cannot be extended. Return to https://swap-os.com/reset-password and request a new one as soon as possible.

  • If you have requested multiple reset emails, ensure you are clicking the link from the most recent email - all previous links are invalidated as soon as a new one is sent.

The reset link opens a broken page

  • This is often caused by browser cache. Copy the reset link from the email and paste it directly into an incognito or private browsing window rather than clicking the link in your email client.

  • If the broken page persists with a fresh link in an incognito window, contact Swap Technical Support with a screenshot of the error.

I reset my password but still can't log in

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again.

  • Try an incognito / private browsing window.

  • Ensure you are entering the new password correctly (check Caps Lock is off).

I don't know which email address is registered

Contact Swap Technical Support with your company name and we will look up the registered email address for you.


Account Locked?

After 5 failed login attempts, your account may be temporarily locked. Wait 15 minutes and try again, or contact Swap Technical Support to unlock your account.
