To keep your SWAP Portal running smoothly and ensure full compatibility with Shopify’s latest API updates, you’ll need to update the app permissions for SWAP in your Shopify Admin.
This guide will explain what’s changing, why it’s important, and how to update your settings.
What’s Changing?
Shopify is updating its API version requirements. To comply with these updates and maintain uninterrupted access to the SWAP Portal, you’ll need to manually adjust the permissions (also known as “scopes”) granted to the SWAP custom app in your Shopify admin.
Why Is This Necessary?
Shopify regularly deprecates older versions of its API. If your app permissions aren’t updated, your store may default to an older stable version, which can lead to reduced functionality or unexpected issues with the SWAP Portal.
Keeping your scopes updated ensures:
Continued access to all SWAP Portal features
Better performance and security
Full compatibility with Shopify’s latest improvements
What You Need to Do

Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.
Go to "Settings."
